Whangateau - silk shroud set

Locally gathered copper sheen leaves (Leptospermum nitidum) and a generous sprinkling of deep red rose petals grown in Whangateau have been used to create the smokey grey and copper highlights on silk. These botanicals are bundled up inside the fabric and, using a completely eco friendly process, the colours and prints from the leaves are infused permanently into the fibres.  Dignified, exquisite, natural and unique.
 
The set includes approximately 6 metres silk tafetta ribbon dyed to secure the shroud after wrapping. Choose from either magenta or silver. Both shroud and ribbons are enclosed in a silk bag for storage. This bag is suitable as an urn for natural interment of ashes, or to keep as a memento.
 
The shroud is a simple wrap design and does not have handles for carrying. A firm backing board, casket, shroud bearer or similar stretcher arrangement will be required. Please talk with your funeral director or cemetery or crematoria staff to discuss requirements suitable for your needs.
